The Universal Truth That Connects Us All
In April, we explored The Law of Divine Oneness, the foundational law of the universe. This principle teaches that everything—every thought, action, and breath—is interconnected. We are not separate from one another, from the Earth, or from the cosmos. Instead, we are threads woven into the same vast and luminous tapestry. Everything made from the same ingredients kinda like Taco Bell.
Stay with me....
A Cosmic Perspective: Spaceship Earth
To frame our theme, I drew inspiration from a recent speech delivered by astronauts returning from a mission around the Moon in April 2026. Reflecting on their journey, they described Earth as a “spaceship” designed for human existence—a fragile and extraordinary vessel carrying us all through the universe.
From deep space, our planet appeared like a lifeboat, and humanity like a crew bound together by interdependence. Their message was simple yet profound: stop focusing on differences and remember that we share not only a home, but a destiny.
This perspective set the tone for our practice and reminded us that we are all connected.
The Law of Divine Oneness… Taco Bell Style
In class, I explained our interconnectedness in a way only a taco lover could—by comparing the universe to the Taco Bell menu.
At first glance, everything looks different: tacos, burritos, chalupas, quesadillas. Unique shapes, unique names, unique experiences. But when you look closer, you realize they’re all made from the same core ingredients—tortillas, beans, rice, cheese, lettuce, and sauce.
The difference isn’t in what they’re made of. It’s in how they come together.
Sound familiar?
Just like those menu items, we may look different, think differently, and move through life in our own unique ways. Yet at our core, we are made of the same universal elements—energy, breath, consciousness, and stardust.
Different forms. Same essence.
My students may have left class with a craving for a Nacho Bell Grande but there was an unmistakable spark of understanding. Because sometimes enlightenment arrives not on a mountaintop, but in the form of a Crunchwrap Supreme.
The takeaway: Different shapes, different vibrations, same ingredients. We are all one.
Sound Healing: The Frequency of Oneness
Throughout the class, we incorporated 963 Hz, a frequency associated with the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara).
This vibration is believed to:
Awaken intuition
Elevate consciousness
Encourage spiritual connection
Promote inner peace
Support a return to unity with our highest source
Listening to it invited a sense of wholeness and connection—an energetic reminder of our shared origin. The music infiltration is felt whether you're a believer or not.
Our Collective Intention
“I am one with all that is.”“We are all connected.”
These affirmations guided our practice both on and off the mat. I try to bring that reminder back tou you repeatedly during class especially when the energy in the room is particualry tasteable:
Embodied Awareness: Returning to Oneness
During class, we cultivated mindfulness through intentional observation:
Noticing the texture and quality of the breath
Observing the pauses between inhales and exhales
Exploring whether inhales were faster or slower than exhales
Tuning into the heartbeat and where it could be felt most strongly (sometimes its not where you'd think it should be)
Moving through a gentle body scan
Within the body, millions of processes unfold simultaneously. Yet we experience ourselves as one unified being—whole, integrated, and interconnected.
Breathe in calmness.Breathe out anxiety.
Asana Flow: Unity Through Movement
This sequence embodied connection and openness, with a focus on releasing the hips—an energetic center associated with grounding and emotional release.
Featured Sequence - try it at home!!!
Child’s Pose (Balasana) – Center and arrive
Right Side Lizard Pose (High to Low) – Hold
Child’s Pose – Integrate and reset
Left Side Lizard Pose (High to Low) – Hold
Repeat those poses Breath-to-Movement Flow – Cultivate fluidity and awareness
The Why: Opening the hips encourages release, balance, and freedom—physically and energetically—allowing us to feel more connected within ourselves and with the world around us, while keeping your palms firmly rooted to the connection of the earth.
Before & After: Transformation on the Mat
Students arrived feeling tight, sore, or misaligned—and left feeling:
Looser and more aligned
Grounded and energized
Calm yet empowered
Reconnected to themselves and the universe ( In Yin I call this "Yin Drunk" )
Like a moving chiropractic appointment, the practice restored balance and awakened vitality. The experience on the mat integrated into the body, shaping who we are and who we are becoming.
We grow through challenge. We evolve through effort.
“Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still.”
The work we do on the mat travels with us into the world.
How the Theme Came to Life
Each class format offered a unique portal into the Law of Divine Oneness:
Slow Flow: A gentle, intentional 45-minute inward journey
Yin: Reflective journaling prompts—my signature “Yin-quiries”
Power: Strength cultivated through empowerment
Hatha: Embracing the shakes and breathing through challenge
Restorative: Awakening the senses before surrendering to stillness... with candles!
Foundational Flow: Building awareness, confidence, and connection from the ground up ( Saturday Morning = Best way to start the weekend)
Closing Reflection
Life is Earth School. We cannot learn without challenge, nor evolve without change. Growth may feel difficult—even exhausting—but it is far more rewarding than remaining stagnant.
We do the work on the mat and carry the lesson into the world.
A Note for the Months Ahead
Beginning in May, this blog will continue as a monthly reflection—revisiting the previous month’s theme and sharing what truly unfolded in the room. Each entry will serve as both a keepsake and a source of inspiration for your continued journey.
Because no one can copy your lived experience in that space.
If you were in class this week, I’d love to know what landed for you.
